It's so cliche' & you hear parents say it all the time, but it is so hard to believe how fast they change & grow. Brian and I have been together for nearly 11 years (whoa!) and it's hard to believe that just 24 short months ago, we had only been home from the hospital for 10 days with our new little Andrew Neil.

Two years ago today, Andrew was a little muffin (known by so many other names too--peanut, sweet pea, punkin doodle, mr. muff, bubbo...) who we would wrap up in his blue burrito and would fit in Daddy's forearm.

We were just barely starting to figure out some things about this new life & our biggest, most important adventure. We were laying around cuddling a tiny 7 lb. peanut, trying to adjust to the lack of sleep, worried at every moment about how he was doing. We were figuring out the world of bottles & breast-pumps, going through burpies, onesies, and snap-front shirts galore, living in pajamas, and being in awe (when not half asleep) of this little precious being we had created, anxiously awaiting all fun "firsts" that we would soon
be experiencing.
A year ago, we were amazed by all the changes that had
taken place in just 12 months...

he had already had 2 haircuts, was walking, had two cute little bottom teeth, was using sign-language and saying "uh-oh". He liked to clap, wave bye-bye, and blow kisses-- fully in the midst of that transition from baby to toddler and was becoming more & more interested in exploring the world around him. We were amazed that just a few months before we had a little baby who we could rock for hours and now had a little toddler running around.
And now, there is a full-fledged little person sitting by me, who stands almost to my hips (I know, I know, I'm short, but still...)--a little person who asks for "mommy hold you"; who has favorite books, movies, and characters ("Car-cars", "Nemo", or "Cookie-munsther" anyone?!); who loves music & sings tons of songs like his ABC's, the Wheels on the Bus, Baby Beluga, & "Ba-Do" (otherwise known as "September" by Earth, Wind, & Fire); who runs, jumps, dances, climbs, twirls--a little person who loves animals & bugs, cars, pains, & BIG cucks (that's planes & trucks for those that don't speak toddler), and who loves being outside!-- a little person who has clear likes and dislikes, says "peas & tenk shu", remembers events from weeks ago, who makes choices, and yes, who has been hitting and having tantrums--a little person who gives BIG hugs, kisses, says "love you", and has a great little laugh!
It's truly an amazing thing--one of life's many little miracles!
With the babysite soon closing (which of course was almost all pictures), I thought I'd post a little 2 year montage of some of our favorites...
