A Roaring Good Time!

Andrew's ready for a jungle fun 2nd birthday!  Whoo hoo!

Given Andrew's (and our) love of animals, we decided to have a jungle fun party.  I've had fun the last two years honing my cake decorating skills and enjoyed making a jungle cake this year :)  The palm trees proved to be quite a task, but it was fun that it was all edible (everything but the animals of course).  It was my "Ace of Cakes" moment.

We had lots of family over & a few friends too. Andrew had such a good time playing with his good little friend, Avi.  It was SO cute watching them play together.   Balls, trucks, and the climbing/sliding structure were the definite big hits!

It was a lot of fun watching him open his presents this year with so much more animation and excitement--he loved being able to rip the paper and seeing the prize inside.  We got him a Little People Alphabet Zoo (a great buy on craigslist!) which he has had a lot of fun playing with.  And, he has also loved his new musical instruments (he is quite the little kazoo player), sand 'n water table, bowling set, & new trucks!   Thank you everyone!

Without a doubt though, Andrew's biggest excitement came a couple of days later when his Nebraska grandma came with a friend for a visit over her spring break.  The night she came over, Andrew's very own basketball hoop came with her!  His shriek of overwhelming excitement & delight was absolutely priceless as Daddy walked through the front door carrying the great big box with the basketball hoop on the front (too bad we didn't get it on video!).  Andrew kept saying, "baketball", and was not only very eager to play that night, but has been for just about everyday since.

We love you sweet pea and are glad you had such a happy 2nd birthday!
