Given that we live within walking distance, we decided to buy season passes (plus Andrew is still free--sweet!). So, they had season pass holder preview days last Wed, Thurs, and Friday. Then, the park officially opened on the 4th! As soon as Brian got home on Wednesday night, we got suited up and the 3 of us headed over to check it out.
The place is AWESOME! Andrew was a little unsure about all the noise, water, and people...but after a little while we were able to convince him to go down the little blue slide a couple of times.
The kid area is really neat, having things that appeal to all ages--Brian and I even enjoyed the bigger slides they have in that area. And, the crowd and cooling appeal is the GINORMOUS bucket of water that dumps a deluge of water every 5 minutes or so.
Then, on Friday afternoon Brian, Emily, and I headed back again and met two fellow teachers I work with & their spouses at the park! What a blast!
We spent about 5 hours there and were able to hit well over half of the rides. Definitely the best waterpark in AZ! We LOVED some of the slides--a couple were much more like amusement park rides than any water slide we'd ever been on before. The red and yellow slides are crazy! We all really liked those. And, there are slides called the Desert Racers in which you go down head first on a mat--SO fun!!!! We are definitely looking forward to making use of these passes for the rest of the summer/early fall! :)
