Two of the 3 summer big boy changes are now complete--Andrew is completely weaned from the paci and now has a big boy room--no more crib and no more changing table. (Now, if we could only get to no more diapers! :) )
Andrew's last night in the crib was Friday night and we spent ALL day yesterday on the transformation...
BEFORE:
IN PROGRESS:
Andrew definitely enjoyed "helping" build such a BIG bed! :)
Then, really thought it was cool when he discovered he could play in it! :)
Finally put together and is darker than we had hoped--we were thinking it would be a dark brown like the stripe on his wall, but it actually just looks black! Oh well, the storage is great and the price was right!
The "kiki" wasted no time in finding such a great new place to sleep!
FINISHED (& exhausted):
Andrew did great sleeping in his big boy bed last night and is taking a nap there right now.
He seems to really enjoy it--he likes crawling up there, laying down on his tummy, and saying "go sleep".
He also really likes his BIG leaf--and so do we! It's the perfect new addition.
We definitely enjoyed putting everything together, but the process was admittedly a little bittersweet. As we were taking apart the crib, we couldn't help but remember putting it together and thinking that it didn't seem like very long ago. That seems to happen often! I'm sure there will be many more of these BIG changes to come soon. For now, we are just enjoying his new room and two more weeks before school begins again!
