Snips and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails...

I don't know that I had ever really pictured being the mom of two boys, but that's what I soon will be!  Bring on more dirt, trains, cars, monsters, dinosaurs, jumping, & climbing!
We had the "Big" ultrasound yesterday & the gender of this little one was quite clear once she was able to get a shot!  He had his little feet crossed for the longest time--but finally, he moved around enough to get clear confirmation.
From the scan in September, we already knew that most important things were developing well.  But, this was good confirmation none-the-less.  All of his vital organs look good, as does his spine, and cute little face.
We saw the dr. then just after the ultrasound.  She explained that the tech wasn't able to get a good view of the vessels leading from the heart, nor was she able to view the number of vessels in the umbilical cord.  She made it VERY clear that EVERYTHING she saw looks absolutely perfect & there is no need to worry.  She would just feel more comfortable if they had confirmation about the cord & major heart vessels, because if anything was abnormal, it would change how she would monitor the pregnancy & how delivery would go.  So, what that means is we get to see this little one again in two weeks--just in time for Thanksgiving.  Fun!

As this little guy is getting bigger--measuring about 20 weeks and weighs about 11oz., my belly is keeping up its crazy, exponential growth!  I continue to be MUCH bigger at this stage than I was with Andrew.  In fact, with Andrew I think I had only just started getting a few maternity clothes at this point.  However, I have been wearing almost exclusively maternity stuff for a good 3-4 weeks already.  Ironically, my students still don't know and none of them have commented, although I would think some of them must suspect!

19 weeks with baby #2
19 weeks with Andrew
So, clearly bigger! :)  Andrew has been very interested in pictures lately.  So, when he saw me taking pictures, he wanted to be in them as well.  Pretty cute.  I wanted to get him to stick out his belly too, but no such luck!

In the upcoming weeks, we will be talking with Andrew more about his little brother on the way & will be having many more discussions about names as well.  If Andrew got a choice right now, his name would probably be "Buzz Lightyear"!  So, we'll have to leave him out of that one! :)
