Carpet, Tile, Paint--Oh my!

So, with the likelihood that the new house is really going to become reality in the next few weeks, our time has been spent researching possibilities for some of the improvements that need to be done, like flooring and possibly paint.  There are other things too--like replacing the cheap, brassy, rental fixtures, but that can wait & be done slowly after the move.  Flooring on the other hand MUST be completed prior to us moving in.  

Last night, we went to a small family owned flooring business in town and were MOST impressed.  No matter what our final decision is on the items, we will DEFINITELY be using them!  So, we are excited to have that checked off our list.  If we can work out the finances (isn't that always the issue?!  An unlimited money supply sounds really good right about now!), we are hoping to go with this carpet & tile: 

A bit hard to get a real feel for it in the pictures, but I suppose it gives a little bit of an idea.  I'm "in love" with the carpet--it is eco friendly, made from recycled plastic!!!  Who knew?!  We certainly didn't.  Not only does it feel softer than "traditional" samples we had gotten from other stores, but this stuff is almost impossible to stain ('cause it's plastic!).  The owner told us about a lady who got blue paint out with just water and a guy who spilled bleach, but the carpet is fine!  How cool is that!  Plus, it even cheaper than what we had thought we'd go with from the "big box stores".  Very cool!  They let us bring home their store samples and I like them even better in the house than at the store!  So, we are excited that we have possibly made a decision with that.  Now, what to do about paint?!...Ideas?
