Today, we celebrate the fact that Brian is 30!!!! Wow! There has always been something about 30 that just sounds so "adult", so "grown-up", or so "old" (as my sister was so quick to point out today). What seems to make it all the more "old-sounding" is the fact that we were both still just 18 when we started dating (albeit, not for long, but still 18 nonetheless). How is he 30 today?! Crazy!
Unfortunately, given the fact that I've been sick for close to the past 10 days and we've had quite a lot on our plate this past week, I had no big blow-out 30th party planned. Instead, my mom & sister joined us (my dad had to work) for a nice yummy dinner at home (complete with ribs, steak, salad, & garlic bread...mmmmm...)--we had a few decorations (the over the hill balloon really set the tone), opened a few cards/presents, and otherwise, had a rather low-key night. We are hoping to do a birthday date this weekend and/or possibly plan something a bit "big" for both of our 30th b-days! I have a few more months to wait for my milestone day though! :)
Andrew sure did think it was fun that it's Daddy's birthday. He LOVES singing happy birthday & wanted to help with the presents, the cake, the candles--everything! It's so fun watching him be so engaged in all that is going on! In fact, we had to blow out Daddy's candles twice because Andrew got so excited to help, that he actually blew out all the candles a little early. Sadly, I just missed getting video of that. So, instead you'll have to enjoy this little "Happy Birthday, Daddy" video montage! Happy Birthday to our favorite 30-year-old, we love you! :)
