With the stress of school work gone & the fact that "newbaby" could be here any day, we managed to have a VERY productive weekend and have made good progress on the house. It all began with some yard work Friday afternoon, which clearly needed to be done:
With all this crazy rain, the weeds are out of control and almost as tall as Andrew!! There was some weed-whacking done, along with pruning of the fig & lemon trees, etc.
Saturday we decided that it was finally time to tackle "baby brudder" gear! We got the trim put up in his room; got the bassinet, the crib, and the swing put together; got 5 loads of baby laundry done (after being in storage for 2 years); and then my mom & I went shopping to get some diapers along with other miscellaneous baby & general house items.
Andrew was such a good helper with everything! It was SOO cute (and sweet) to see him helping Daddy put together "baby brudder's bed".
We continued doing lots of house stuff throughout the weekend, until we had my family over tonight for a birthday celebration for my grandma. By the end of today (along with what we already had done), we definitely have made good progress....
Baby's room:
Now we need to get the dresser in there (it needs to be painted), buy a rocker, and get the clothes put away! Then, I think we will be "set". Even if this little guy should decide to come sooner rather than later, we at least have things fairly functional! So, that's a good feeling!
Andrew's room:
His room is the most set-up of any of them--we just need to get the clothes/closet organized and put up the rest of his posters/decorations.

So, definitely good progress!!! None of the rooms are completely finished and there is still a lot more to put away (the garage is a scary sight!), more to organize, and of course, the fun decorating part yet to be done. But, now that we are two full weeks in, we finally are starting to feel at least somewhat settled. And, that is a good feeling!! Hopefully we'll be able to get some more stuff accomplished in the baby's room and the next big project of getting the office/extra room ready for Brian's parents' arrival in 12 days!
