8 month old Eli

"Why hello there! My name is Eli, I'm 8 months old, and getting so very big! Lots of exciting things are going on in my little world...just look and see!"

Topping the list are the 1st two "toofers" that popped through in the past couple of weeks:
They make it even better for eating food! Which, Eli does quite well! In fact, at 8 months old, he has officially surpassed his big brother's weight at 1 year! At a Dr.'s appointment the day before his 8 month birthday, he was 21lbs. 11oz. (Andrew was 21lbs. 6 oz. at 1 year). The big eating development is that we are now doing some finger foods--little rice cracker teething biscuits, cereal puffs, soft fruit, and even broccoli!
There is great concentration involved in trying to refine that pincher grasp...
...once there is finally some in hand, then it gets shoved in the mouth...
And, food isn't the only thing that gets shoved in the mouth! Lately, this is a common sight around the house!
Chewing on toys apparently requires great focus and force also!
There have been HUGE changes on the mobility front too! Eli is now moving with purpose! Rolling, squirming, inching, army crawling--anything to get what he wants.
He still doesn't have full-fledge "correct crawling" down, but is oh so close. And, he is getting from point A to point B nonetheless. He's also mastered some other skills in the last few weeks, going from this:
to this...
...and then back to this...
all on his own!
And, he is desperate to pull himself up! Though, he hasn't managed to do so on his own, if you stand him up next to something, he's good to stand there for quite sometime.
In fact, with Big Brother around, sometimes Eli thinks he's 8 months going on 2! So eager to play like the big boys! See?!...
He's even taking down Christmas moose with his bare hands!
But, sometimes all that big boy play is a little much though...
He was all smiles again in no time and now has a nice little bruise to show for it!
If mommy needs to get anything done, then the exersaucer is a must! Which it is clear to see that he still enjoys...
but, he might not fit for too much longer!!
At 8 months, Mr. Eli, our dear little chunker monker is so big!
We can't believe how fast the time is going by and that soon we will celebrate his first Christmas!! Wow!
"thanks for stopping by for an update!!"
