12 months of Eli!

How is it possible that Eli is a YEAR old already?! It's amazing how fast time flies by. How can it really be possible that this is what he looked like one year ago?! 

Hard to believe that he's no longer that little baby, instead he's turning in to quite the adventurous toddler!! 

Truly, Eli is our little monkey and is MUCH more adventurous than Andrew ever was. He seriously climbs on EVERYTHING he can! I'm sure that comes from watching all the fun things his Big Brother does.

One random morning, Andrew asked to get in the crib with Eli. So they played for awhile and as soon as Andrew laid down, Eli was standing on him, seeming to attempt climbing out of the crib!

 

Then, one night as we were playing before bed, Brian and I turned around to see this scene:

 And, at a year old now, he is fully capable of climbing on to the couch all by himself. He gets SO pleased with himself! 

Mommy on the other hand, is less than pleased! This little monkey is certainly keeping me on my toes (and attempting to give me a heart attack at least once a day!) 

 

When he's not climbing or getting in to something, Eli is getting much better at figuring things out. His development is really take off and it's fun watching him understand more and more. The next few months should be especially fun as hopefully his communication starts to take off and we hit that "language explosion". 

 

It's amazing to see his growth (both physical and developmental) over the last year!  To think that just twelve months ago we were just bringing him home from the hospital-wow!! At 12 months, Eli weighs in at 23 lbs. 15oz. and is 30.75 inches tall. That puts him in the 75 percentile for both height and weight (down a bit from the 90+ at a couple of months!). And, he continues to be bigger than his brother at the same age. Andrew was  21lbs. 60z, 29.75 inches at his one year check. We'll see how long that trend continues!
