Easter Festivities

Last week we enjoyed quite a few nice Easter festivities! (Much different than last year, to be sure)
We kicked off the festivities with a paper mache' project using some of our plastic eggs! Andrew didn't like sticking his fingers in the gluey mess, so he opted for a paintbrush instead! :)

The Tuesday before Easter, our MOPS group (the moms group that I've been going to this year) had a great Easter picnic, complete with an egg hunt! I couldn't resist dressing Eli in the bunny suit we had! So cute!! :) We had a great day with our friends there!
On Easter morning, the boys woke up to an Easter basket full of goodies! We opted for a joint basket and it worked really well! Maybe we'll keep that a tradition?!
Andrew sure was excited to see everything and really liked his first-ever Veggie Tales movie: "Twas the Night Before Easter". We put that on while we ate breakfast and got ready for church.
And, Eli loved the plastic eggs! They also loved reading the book with Daddy that Grandma Dallas & Grandpa Gordon sent.
The boys did a great job at church. And we tried to take some pictures afterward. Getting a good family shot has become increasingly difficult. But, at least we have something!
Later that afternoon (after naps), my parents and grandparents came over for Easter dinner. In addition to the normal Easter dinner eats (like ham, potato salad, and veggies), we had an edible arrangement that my mom & I put together, along with bunny cake that I made! YUM!
Grammy & Grampy brought the boys matching froggie Easter baskets. By that afternoon though, Eli was running a low fever and was clearly not feeling very good. So, we just took Andrew out for a backyard Easter egg hunt. I have such fond memories of our backyard hunts as a kid, so I'm happy to keep the tradition going.
It was great to have such a nice Easter, and especially a nice day with family the day before Brian's surgery. Hope you had a nice Easter too!
