Last week, we went to Lincoln for a Nebraska game. A friend from church & growing up, Laura, is living in Lincoln temporarily while her husband works on the new basketball stadium. So, we met up with them and my dad actually came in for the weekend!
We thought it was a sure win since we played Northwestern. But, we lost!!! It was terrible--only the 4th time in 13 years that I've seen them lose at home! Boo! But, we still had fun during the day! We drove into Lincoln about 5 hours before kick-off and started things off with some tailgating and a special one at that--Laura's husband got us tickets! . YUM!
Then, we spent some time walking around campus. There's always a lot of nostalgia in that for us. Fall was my favorite time in Nebraska, so I loved that there were still gorgeous colored leaves. And, then, we of course, had to go see the band warm-up & give a concert outside the music building!
There's a long-standing tradition of releasing balloons once the Huskers score their first touchdown. Sadly, this time, it took us SO long to score, that fans went ahead and released them after we kicked a field goal.
Honestly, the rest of the game wasn't too fun! But, here are some of my favorite shots from the rest of the game. Here's hoping the outcome of today's game is better for us!
