A great long weekend...

Thanksgiving was great this year--and extra special as it was Eli's first one! Just as his big brother was 3 years ago, he was adorable in the turkey bib! :)
We all went over to my parents' house--I was in charge of the cranberry jello salad, green bean casserole, and pumpkin pies (you can see the mini pies I made here). Once there, I put together a turkey veggie tray. So fun!
We enjoyed lots of yummy food and Eli had his first ever bites of mashed potatoes...
You would think that he would have loved them, but just like his big brother, his reaction clearly indicated otherwise...
In addition to good food, there was good company. All my grandparents were there, along with my uncle & cousins. It had been WAY too long since we'd all been together, so it was GREAT to see them! Sadly, I was BAD with picture duty, so this one is the only evidence that anyone else was there...
It was a great day, which ended with a short 3 hour nap. Then, at 2am, my mom and I ventured out for shopping. We hit Walmart, Kohl's, Joann's, Kmart, and Lowe's--and found just about everything we were looking for. Some of my favorite finds were a $2.97 Rival Crockpot, Philip's Sonicare Toothbrush for $17 after rebate (normally $99), a Toy Store Mr. Potato Head play set for Andrew for $14 (regularly $49.99), and a 6 foot Christmas Tree for our family room for $19 (regularly $50+) that really does look nice! Fun stuff! Yes, we were exhausted, but it was totally worth it!
Then, of course, there was the day after Thanksgiving Nebraska vs. Colorado game--an often notoriously nail-biter of a game. Thankfully though, this one was not! :) We won handily and are headed to the Big 12 Championship!
The rest of the weekend was spent doing some Christmas decorating, watching football, and seeing Harry Potter 7.1 again! :) It was great!! And, Christmas for me came a little early at the end of the weekend, but that gets its own post for a later date!

Hope you had a wonderful weekend and are now gearing up for a festive holiday season! It's freezing here, yes, literally, so it makes it seem all the more like Christmastime! :)
