Home, Sweet Home!

So good to be home! It has been great having time with Andrew and some relaxing time around the house! Andrew has been doing fairly well, although he has been a bit more "needy" this past week. But, since he has never really been very clingy, we are happy to engage in a little extra snuggle time. We didn't waste anytime getting right back into the swing of things though! Somehow, we managed to stay up until 11:00 on the Friday night we got back after sleeping for only part of the flight back home (it was a REALLY unpleasant flight!).
Then, Saturday we had Avi's (Andrew's "BFF") birthday party to go to. So, that evening (after a much needed 2 hour recovery nap while Andrew napped) we headed off to the party where Andrew happily ate & played with Avi. We had a good time too--talking about our Australian adventures & meeting other young couples and I happily enjoyed a good "baby fix", getting to hold one of Avi's baby twin sisters for quite awhile.

Andrew & Avi were SOOOOO cute eating these cupcakes. Andrew did well with actually eating part of the cake, but only if it had frosting on it. What is hilarious though is that once there was no more frosting, Andrew pointed at his cupcake, looked right at us and said, "more cheese". :) I'm not entirely sure what he was thinking, but perhaps cream cheese? At any rate, seeing their little smeary faces at the end was pretty darn cute!
After the party, we had our own little Australian family party at our house--looking at pictures, munching on delightful Tim Tams & unique chips, and giving souvenirs.
Andrew LOVES his presents--he had to wear his new shirt to Avi's party (we got Avi a matching one as part of his birthday present) and he has had to sleep with his new stuffed animals EVERY night! In addition, he loves reading his Australian animal counting book that we happened to buy on a whim at the last store we were in right before we left Sydney. Here he is happily reading his counting book with Dadddy--and Kala Bear (Koala) & wombat! Last night, he counted to 15 which seems like a pretty good accomplishment for a 2 year old!
Then, we celebrated Father's Day on Sunday at my parents house with the grandparents--so once again, looked at a lot of pictures! Brian returned to work on Monday--Boo! He wasn't too excited and by Monday, we were all fairly tired! So, while Daddy spent the first week back trying to get back into the swing of things at work, Mommy & Andrew spent the week trying to get back into the swing of things at home--admittedly, the "swing of things" at home sometimes meant more "relax & cuddle" last week! :) These pictures say a lot about everyone's (including the pets!) sleepy & relaxed mood last week!

Contrary to the thousands words that these pictures speak, we did manage to actually do some things in the last week (we didn't just sleep!)--like clean the house, go to our Community Center classes, run some errands, play in the water (at home & at Grammy's), and develop a love for a new movie that Mommy is excited about. But, it's late, so I will save that post & pictures & video for tomorrow (hopefully!)
