While we were gone...

On Saturday the 6th when we left, we tried to make the day as normal as possible for Andrew and do some fun things with him.  We went for a walk that morning and all made a great chalk mural on the back wall! :)  Andrew LOVED that! 

 Once we got to the airport, we had some free time.  So, we found a good window seat at the Food Court where Andrew could see buses and planes and of course, took some pictures.  

Once we finally got around to leaving and made our tearful goodbyes (not Andrew, just the adults), Andrew headed back to the house with Grammy & Grampy.  Grampy had to work almost the whole time we were gone (stupid session & STUPID state legislature!), so Andrew spent a lot of time with Grammy and some with Emily too.  They started a tumbling and movement class on Monday that we have been going to at our local Community Center.  Andrew goes there with his friend Avi.  Then, they met over at Pump it Up for some fun play time a few days later. 

Here's a shot from a different day just for you to see what Pump It Up looks like.  The place is really a lot of fun--the boys love it and the adults have a pretty good time too!!!  Bouncy "castles" are SO MUCH FUN!!!

Andrew LOVES movies (probably not the best habit, but oh well I guess) and while we were gone Grammy introduced him to Mary Poppins.  Typically, he had only been interested in animated films--his favorites had been Cars, Finding Nemo, and then Winnie the Pooh when we left.  But, he certainly took to Mary Poppins!  He LOVES the singing and the dancing--he tries to sing and dance along!  So, I think they probably spent some time doing that! :)

Then, the Sunday before we came home, Grammy & Grampy were able to take him out to the Wildlife World Zoo.  They fed birds & giraffes, road the train, checked out the new aquarium, & saw little month-old white tigers!  So cute!  Andrew definitely loves animals and loves to go to the zoo, so it's clear he had a VERY good time.  He even got to ride the carousel--twice! :)

Apparently, he fell asleep before they even got out of the parking lot! Clearly exhausted from such a good time!

Unfortunately, the next day he got sick with a stomach bug that has swept through the Valley.  But, luckily that was short-lived and he was feeling much better quickly.  Then, just a few days later, we finally came home.  Yay!

We had showed Andrew this kangaroo over skype and he reached out toward the computer screen and said, "have it".  So, we made sure to have this little souvenir ready to give him at the airport.  He loves it!  "Kangyroo"  He especially like the joey and calls it his baby!  So cute!

It was so good to be home and see him!  He seemed a little shy, but very excited none-the-less.  :) We are so glad that he had a good time while we were gone--it is SO great having family support so close by and that he is so close with his Grammy & Grampy!  He was in very good hands and had a good time without us!
