Growing...

It seems like lately there is a lot of growing going on at our house.  Andrew is certainly growing--not as noticeably as his first year of course.  But, it becomes apparent as he reaches farther up the counter, as he climbs with ease onto our bed or other various locations, and as his clothes become too small.  

And, speaking of clothes becoming too small--I am in the midst of experiencing this right now!! My ever-expanding belly is a reminder of the growing little one inside and the fact that our family is growing from 3 to 4!  And, this belly is certainly expanding faster than it did with Andrew!  Officially, I am 16 weeks today (about 4 months).  I took a picture for this first time this week and I think I'm about the same size as I was with Andrew at 19 weeks.  So, I measuring about a month ahead of where I was the first time around!  See if you agree:

I'm hoping I can't get 4 weeks bigger at the end!  I already stuck out SOOO far with Andrew, it seems hard to believe that I could get bigger!

Time will definitely tell!  At 16 weeks, the baby is about the size of an avocado & is supposed to double its weight & add inches to its height in just the next couple of weeks.  So, there will definitely be a lot of growing all around.  

We've already had two ultrasounds & been able to hear the heartbeat 3 different times now.  All seems to be well!

We had an amazing ultrasound done at 12 weeks--we even got a copy of the whole thing on Dvd!  Really cool.  The tech checked the baby's brain, heart, umbilical cord, stomach, bladder--even counted all the fingers.  She made a guess at the gender too--all signs point to boy.  But, we have the "big" ultrasound in just a few weeks, so hopefully we will know for sure then.  

It's hard to believe Andrew will be a big brother--and even harder to believe that this little one is actually due on Andrew's 3rd birthday.  I still don't know what the odds are there, but I can't believe they are very high!  

Andrew still doesn't really have any idea what is going on or the big changes that will be coming his way in the next few months.  We plan on waiting until I have an even more noticeably large belly & we know for sure whether Andrew will have a little brother or sister.  We figure sometime in the next month (or by Christmas) we will start talking to him more.  Many exciting changes & much more growing is coming in the next few months!  Crazy!
