We just came home a few days ago from a wonderful 5-day trip back to Nebraska. I had a random Monday off, so we went ahead and took off Thursday & Friday too. This was Andrew's first flight on an airplane in which he got his own seat and boy was he excited!!! He had his own little suitcase & backpack special for the trip (and also a new little boy haircut) and waited in anticipation for days leading up to his time at the airport & flying on the airplane.
There was something so stinkin' cute about the little man wheeling his own suitcase through the airports. He actually was rather good at it and would have been even better had he not needed to watch out for other people.
Other than the ease to which the seat-belt could be taken off, Andrew was a great flier. He slept for the second hour of the flight out, and on both flights enjoyed various coloring and play-doh activities.
While we were there, we had a nice mix of days with fun, planned events (those will get their own blog posts) and days with nothing at all planned (good for relaxing & outside play time).
On one of the chillier mornings (which was such a welcome change for us), we headed over to Walnut Grove Park for some fun playtime. Aside from picking raspberries in Grandma & Grandpa's garden (he is a berry-monger & successfully depleted the rest of the berry crop), another favorite outdoor activity of Andrew's was squirrel-chasing! We had no luck at the park with the squirrels, but settled for some ducks and fun playground equipment instead.
It is in fact SO much fun, that Dallas & Gordon got in on the action. Everyone, yes, EVERYONE did at least one round on vocals. Gordon tried his hand at guitar and the drums. And, after much coaxing, Dallas even tried guitar too.
