We were discharged on Tuesday and by that point were very ready to come home. My mom brought up Andrew and Brian's parents again. We had some lunch and after waiting around for almost 2 hours, we finally were able to leave.
One of my friends got Eli the most adorable dinosaur outfit. With Andrew's enthusiasm for dinosaurs lately, we thought it would be the perfect coming home outfit! The dinosaur feet are my favorite part! Too cute!
Andrew was really excited to ride with us and baby brudder! He was much more himself this day and was definitely excited for us all to come home. He was a BIG helper with getting all of our stuff out to the car.
At first, Eli was NOT happy in the car. Andrew commented on his crying and then said, "he's trying to tell us something". Wow! So true! :) After a few minutes on the freeway though and both boys were asleep. Both boys. Amazing. Seeing both car seats in the car and full with two wonderfully perfect & healthy little guys somehow made everything seem all the more real. We are very blessed indeed!
It was great to come home and start to get settled into life as our family of four. Life with a newborn is both wonderful and exhausting. I love that baby smell and the cute noises & funny faces! Andrew has become more and more interested in baby brother and has been a big help numerous times with bringing diapers, blankets, etc. It's clear he is a little unsure on how to interact with Eli just yet. However, it is super sweet to watch Andrew walk by his swing and just give him a little pat.
So, we're definitely enjoying our time at home together and glad that Daddy has been able to take time off to spend with us!
Gosh, he looks so much like Andrew in that second picture up. Amazing! He's a doll, and I love the dino outfit:)
