Eli turned two months old yesterday, on our 6 year wedding anniversary. The best thing about two months is the smiles and cooing that happen with such ease now. We are often greeted by a big gummy smile, which always seems to melt the heart a little bit.
At two months, Eli still has that hint of red hair. So, although he only has a small fraction of the hair his big brother had at this age, Eli continues the trend of our children's hair garnering much attention when out in public. It seems as though everyone comments on the color of his hair!!
He just moved into size 2 diapers (when he doesn't have his cloth Kawaii's on) and is consistently wearing size 3 month or 3-6 month clothes. I've been trying to squeeze him into what adorable 0-3 month outfits I can, but we are quickly running out of time for that. In fact, even many of the just "3-month" size items won't fit for much longer. ;(
Unfortunately, the situation with his fussiness is not improving and if anything, is getting worse. He still isn't sleeping for any longer than about 4 hours at night and wakes up frequently screaming as though he were being stabbed. There are periods where nothing will do except possibly eating (but sometimes even then, he arches his back & screams while taking the bottle) or sometimes being held. It's good that we have his two-month check on Monday (otherwise we would be making a separate visit), as we think these issues (along with a whole bunch of other symptoms) may be a sign of a condition known as silent reflux or possibly even a mild food allergy (as his gas issue really hasn't improved much either). So, we are hoping to get something figured out, making him more comfortable and everyone more rested.
Given all that, I really cherish the times where he is awake and not fussy. It's great watching him look at things more closely, beginning to track objects with his eyes, and of course, those cute baby noises and smiles. Sometimes even, it sounds like a giggle trying to work itself out. Andrew is now enjoying trying to get him to smile too!
I'll leave you with the best of his two-month crocodile photo shoot. No month update post will be complete without one! This month, I'm loving how Eli's outfit & the crocodile's color-scheme match-up so nicely! ;)
