Lincoln Photoshoot

On the last full day of our trip, we spent the day in Lincoln. Brian and I spent part of the day at the game together, which always lends itself to great photo-ops!
After visits with friends and family, we took the boys to the bookstore to get Andrew a hat (to match Eli's) and perhaps browse & buy a few other things! :) While there, Andrew found the big Herbie hats and wanted us all to try them out. We managed to get away without taking any home.
However, when he found the large corn hands, we couldn't resist. He found them himself in a big bin, put them on his hands, brought one to me and said, "look Mommy, we can high five together and say Go Huskers!" Brian & I about died! :)
So, then, I tried to get video--not as good as the initial spontaneous happening--but still adorable.
As we were leaving the bookstore and packing up the van, I looked up and saw the quad outside of Love Library. It was in that spot that 3 years earlier (well almost 3 anyway), we had done our little photoshoot of Andrew in the grass. These pictures are still some of my favorites--especially the 4th one!
So, although it was getting late, I couldn't resist the chance to recreate that experience with Eli. And, I'm SO glad we took the time! I absolutely adore some of these pictures!
Even though we weren't able to get a cute family shot, these brother shots made it all worth it! The last one is everyone's favorite!! You can bet that a large version of it will be finding a nice chunk of wall space in our house sometime soon!
Definitely worth the extra 10 minutes! Eli was even still happy at the end!
We all had such a great time over the week--so much so, that Eli has decided that he wants to play for the Huskers! And, with his size, that just might happen! :)
We're all looking forward to the next time!

  1. Beautiful pictures, and yes, my favorite has to be the one of the boys looking at each other! Priceless!
