Meeting Eli...

...and catching up with Nebraska friends and family.

One of the extra special things about this trip of course was that it was Eli's first trip back and there were so many special people to meet! Unfortunately, it seems like no matter how long we stay, we are never able to see everyone. And, this trip was no different. Between the holiday weekend, weddings, work, and people just being busy, there were some that we sure did miss seeing. But, even still, we managed to connect with quite a few people!
On Saturday, all my band friends got to meet the little guy, along with Noah, and Erica (another college friend).
Then, on Sunday afternoon, we had a little 'meet 'n greet' open house. Unfortunately, given the holiday weekend, many people already had other plans. But, Brian's parent's long-time neighbors stopped by, along with some of our friends.
Once Brian's old soccer buddies got there, then it was playtime in the backyard. Brian's friend, Steve, has two boys also. It was pretty cute to watch Andrew and Grant "playing soccer" together in the backyard!
Also that weekend, Eli was finally able to meet his Nebraska great-grandmas. It is so special that our kids have so many great-grandparents still living! Grandma Wellensiek spent the day with everyone in Lincoln on Saturday.
I absolutely LOVE this picture of the two of them looking at each other! Priceless!
Then, Grandma Bailey spent the day with us on Monday. Aside from meeting Eli and having fun holding him, she & Andrew really enjoyed some reading/playtime together. In fact, we have some great footage of them reading "Froggie" together which I'm hoping to add in here sometime soon.
We enjoyed getting to hang out with friends during the week and ended our Eli meeting sessions on Saturday the 11th, where we got to go over to Megan's house (she & I were roommates my freshman year). Megan has two little boys (both just a few weeks younger than Andrew and Eli). Adam & Andrew met when they were babies. So, now, Eli & Wendel got to meet. Plus, Chrissta was in town, so we were able to see her as well!
(the ladies with the 3 babies! :) )
It was nice to hang out with them for a bit and Andrew enjoyed playing in Adam's cool playroom!
Afterward, we met some of my extended family for dinner. It was so nice to visit and catch up with them! They got Eli the cutest little infant Husker hat (be on the look out for more photos of that soon)!
It's always so great to see everyone we can when we're back! Can't wait 'til next time!
